Maltese Broadcasting Group Program Information
Malta, is a densely populated developed European country in the European Union. The island of Malta is in Southern Europe, an archipelago including the inhabited islands of Malta, Gozo and Comino along with a number of smaller,uninhabited islands. It is situated in the centre of the Mediterranean Sea, 93 km south of Sicily (Italy) and 288 km north of Tunisia. Malta is just over 300 km²with an estimated population of around 500 000 people.
The Maltese Broadcasters on 3ZZZ try very hard to keep the Maltese-Speaking Community (20,272 ABS Melbourne) aged 30 +, happy by presenting programs with a large variety of items making sure that listeners will enjoy each and every program. There are three weekly programs, Monday (5-6 pm), Friday (5-6 pm)and Saturday (10-11 am).
Mondays, 5-6 pm
A program with Liz Phillips (when available away from work). Featuring a variety of segments of weekly topics, literature readings and also a variety of Maltese Music. The program also includes sports reports on Maltese Premier League, Australian A League, Victorian State Premier League and other sports results. Inservik” (We'll Serve You) with Paul Vella, Mario Sammut and Liz Phillips. Saturday (with Salvina Vella on the phone taking messages), 10 am-11am (alternating) A request program where listeners from Melbourne, Interstate and Overseas, request a song as a dedication for a special occasion, as birthdays, anniversaries, etc., featuring popular Maltese Songs. The program also includes a few jokes, which makes the program more appealing to a large number of listeners.
